Discovery Intern (Chemist)


We are looking for an intern with an interest in the Commercial side of Life Sciences (Sales and Marketing) who has a solid background in Biochemistry and strong Pharmacology knowledge. Peptides and antibodies are our areas of expertise so some knowledge of these tools, their function and applications would be attractive.

CRB is a custom provider of research tools, namely peptides and antibodies, branching out into the catalogue market. CRB has a team of scientists (synthetic peptide chemists and immunologists) and a commercial team of sales managers plus a catalogue manager and operations team. The project would be focussed on extending the catalogue for Discovery products (fluorescent dyes and click chemistry tools). The project will be involved in the generation of new products to be added to the Discovery Catalogue and stock management. The internship would also involve uploading the new products to an e-commerce site and some technical writing on new products so a familiarity with mainstream computer programmes is essential.

Person requirements

The candidate should be seeking a position in an analytical laboratory role within a life science company and should have a strong scientific background with knowledge of analytical techniques such as Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass spectrometry. The candidate should also have an interest in business/commercial aspects (marketing) and be a fast learner, willing to spend time reviewing products, structures, datasheets, publications and internal documents. The intern should be able to manage their time efficiently and have an interest in science writing.

Available to students/ graduates with a degree or Master’s in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Analytical Chemistry with an interest in marketing would be preferable.
